New PGA TOUR event in Myrtle Beach South Carolina

On May 10, 2023, the PGA TOUR announced a new event for the 2024 season. 

This new event, an 'opposite' event, will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC starting with the 2024 and - currently - through the 2027 PGA TOUR season.

Exact dates for the Myrtle Beach Classic will be announced in a few months, when the 2024 PGA TOUR schedule gets solidified. See the official press release for more details:

Myrtle Beach Classic to debut on PGA TOUR in 2024

The sponsor for the newly formed tournament will be Visit Myrtle Beach and the host course will be The Dunes Golf and Beach Club.

From a Myrtle Beach Classic Volunteer perspective, give it a few months - at least - for things to fall into place. Tournament and volunteer committee leadership have to be setup, a volunteer webpage for the tournament has to be established, etc. etc.

We will keep an eye on the development of any material, that we will happily share here in our blog and via our Social Media outlets.  As soon as we see / hear anything, that allows golf volunteers to read more info about volunteering at the Myrtle Beach Classic and register as a volunteer, we will post that info and share it with you in our newsletter.

Volunteer Registration for the 2023 Charles Schwab Cup Championship in November in Phoenix, AZ is now open. This is the 7th year, that the Charles Schwab Cup Championship is being played at the historic Phoenix Country Club. 

The Championship is the season finale and final leg of the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs featuring the top 36 Charles Schwab Cup points leaders, competing for the PGA TOUR Champions most coveted title - The Charles Schwab Cup Champion

As in 2022, the 2023 Charles Schwab Cup Championship is a four-day, 72-hole, stroke-play competition with no cut.

PGA TOUR Volunteer Opportunities in the Fall of 2023

The fall schedule of the PGA TOUR has been released.  Those tournament fill the time between the end of the 2022/2023 season and the beginning of 2024 season.

The 2024 season will begin with the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui and the schedule will now be per calendar year, not the wrap-around season format anymore.

Since the 2022/2023 season will finish up with the TOUR Championship in Atlanta end of August 2023 and the 2024 season won't start until Maui in January, there are several months in the fall that are now covered with PGA TOUR tournaments and therefore offer quite a few golf volunteer opportunities.
