US OPEN 2023 Volunteers

We've gotten several inquiries about registering as a volunteer for the 2023 US OPEN at Los Angeles Country Club. As usual, volunteer spots will be occupied fast. Approximately 3,500 volunteers will be needed. As of 7/22/2022, registration is still possible.

It will be the 123rd US Open and take place from June 12 to 18th, 2023 in Los Angeles, CA.

The Los Angeles Country Club is located on Wilshire Blvd, just a few miles East of I-405 and has hosted other large golf tournaments before, such as the 2017 Walker Cup.

CJ Cup coming to Congaree Golf Club

This week (on 6/29/2022), the PGA TOUR announced, that Congaree Golf Club will see another PGA TOUR tournament. After the Palmetto Championship was played at Congaree in June 2021, the CJ Cup will come to Congaree in October 2022. In 2020 and 2021, the CJ Cup, usually held in South Korea, was contested (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) in Las Vegas, NV. 

This year, 2022, the CJ Cup will happen in South Carolina.    Congaree Golf Club is just North of Ridgeland, SC - approximately 45 minutes West of Hilton Head, SC. The drive from Savannah, GA (the main airport used for this event) is also close to 45 minutes.
Tournament week will be 10/17/2022 - 10/23/2022.

A few months after the Palmetto Championship, I (Andreas) had a chance to play a round at Congaree. It's a tough course. It's long. However, the course is so nice. It was a great experience. Below a couple of pictures from that fantastic day.

Ryder Cup Is Upon US

RYDER CUP 2020

Finally, Ryder Cup week is about to start. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Ryder Cup 2020 will be played in 2021. The course at Whistling Straits is in immaculate condition. TEAM USA needs 14 1/2 points to win the cup, TEAM Europe needs 14 points to retain the cup.

We can't wait for the fierce competition to start and enjoy it on TV. Meanwhile, we are enjoying Ryder Cup History to relive some of the greatest moments early on in the 2000s.

Palmetto Championship at Congaree Volunteer Registration is now open

 

As of today, April 14, 2021, volunteer registration for the 2021 Palmetto Championship at Congaree has officially been launched. Register, before spots run out.

Palmetto Championship at Congaree replacing the 2021 RBC Canadian Open

The Palmetto Championship at Congaree is coming to South Carolina.

As we learned just a couple of days ago, the 2021 RBC Canadian Open, not held due to COVID-19 logistical challenges, will be replaced with the Palmetto Championship at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, SC. See details in the official announcement:

This PGA TOUR event will be played June 7-13, 2021, the weekend before the US Open. Congaree Golf Club is located approx. 45 minutes North of Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, just outside of Ridgeland, SC.

Golf volunteers will be needed for this event, but no official volunteer website for the tournament is available yet. Stay tuned - we will post here, once information is public and posted, so that interested volunteers can register.

I (Andreas) will be running Player Transportation and will certainly need help.  More details pending a site visit and multiple calls with PGA TOUR staff and others.
