On May 10, 2023, the PGA TOUR announced a new event for the 2024 season.
This new event, an 'opposite' event, will be held in Myrtle Beach, SC starting with the 2024 and - currently - through the 2027 PGA TOUR season.
Exact dates for the Myrtle Beach Classic will be announced in a few months, when the 2024 PGA TOUR schedule gets solidified. See the official press release for more details:
Myrtle Beach Classic to debut on PGA TOUR in 2024
The sponsor for the newly formed tournament will be Visit Myrtle Beach and the host course will be The Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
From a Myrtle Beach Classic Volunteer perspective, give it a few months - at least - for things to fall into place. Tournament and volunteer committee leadership have to be setup, a volunteer webpage for the tournament has to be established, etc. etc.
We will keep an eye on the development of any material, that we will happily share here in our blog and via our Social Media outlets. As soon as we see / hear anything, that allows golf volunteers to read more info about volunteering at the Myrtle Beach Classic and register as a volunteer, we will post that info and share it with you in our newsletter.
